Dr. Joe Winegar
Dr. Joe Winegar grew up on Big Sandy Lake, his father is Dr. Dave Winegar, the dentist in the town of McGregor. Dr. Joe attended North Dakota State University, then completed his D.D.S degree in 2009 at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. He joined his aunt, Dr. Carol Winegar, and Dr. Robert Bender in September, 2012. Dr. Joe’s goal is to continue their tradition of high quality, comprehensive and caring dentistry. Dr. Joe particularly enjoys the fine details of dental treatment and feels personally gratified to help his patients achieve healthy, good-looking smiles.
Dentistry is constantly changing through new technologies and techniques. Some of Dr. Joe’s professional affiliations for continuing dental education are the Minnesota Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Great Lakes Implant Institute.
Dr. Joe believes in supporting the Brainerd/Baxter communities; the Brainerd Sunrise Rotary, and the Brainerd Sports Boosters have welcomed him as a member.
Most of Dr. Joe’s spare time is spent with his wife, Christy and their three children; William, Grace and Charles. They enjoy many different activities including, boating, golfing, fishing and hunting. The kids are enjoying playing hockey, football, golf and baseball.
Dr. Madeline Hentges
Maddie graduated from the University of Minnesota Dental School in 2024. Her passion for dentistry began at a young age, inspired by her family’s impactful work in improving patients’ lives. Mentored by her extended family, including Dr. Joe Winegar and Dr. Carol Winegar, Maddie developed a deep commitment to compassionate dental care. Her aunt, Dr. Patty Kingston, and uncle, Dr. David Winegar, are also retired dentists. Maddie previously worked at the clinic, learning from Dr. Carol and Dr. Joe before attending dental school.
Born and raised in New Brighton, Minnesota, Maddie was immersed in a culture of teamwork and dedication through her love of sports. She played soccer, hockey, and lacrosse from a young age, which instilled in her values of discipline, perseverance, and leadership. Her exceptional skills and dedication on the lacrosse field and in the classroom earned her the title of CoSIDA Academic All-American at Concordia University of St. Paul. Outside of her professional pursuits, she enjoys playing soccer, pickleball, and spending time outdoors on the lake.
